ISUZU TRUCK CONTRIBUTION AT DRB-HICOM UNIVERSITY TO ENHANCE AUTOMOTIVE EDUCATION

The automotive industry’s growing need for aftersales service support for commercial vehicles has been on the rise with the increase of sales in the market segment. In support of the industry, automotive education institutions such as DRB-HICOM University – the country’s leading automotive industry, aims to ensure their students are equipped with in-depth understanding and greater insights on current technologies that will better prepare them upon entering the industry.

In support of DRB-HICOM University’s efforts, Isuzu Malaysia Sdn Bhd recently contributed one unit of their 4-wheeler Light Duty Truck for academic purposes, in order to aid students attending Diploma and Degree courses at the university. This current unit is an addition to the previous 6-wheeler truck that Isuzu Malaysia contributed back in 2017.

During the handover ceremony, Atsunori Murata, Chief Operating Officer of Isuzu Malaysia Sdn Bhd, thanked DRB-HICOM University for their interest in including Isuzu trucks as part of their academic component for their commercial vehicle programme. He believes that the contribution will further enhance students’ academic experience at the University, aside from increasing their employability within the industry.

According to Murata, “It is a pleasure for Isuzu Malaysia to be able to assist DRB-HICOM University in shaping the talents and minds of automotive students at this university. We hope that this contribution will be impactful for the automotive aftersales sector in the long run”.

Later, Murata then presented a symbolic mock key to Prof. Dato Dr. Abd Aziz Latif, Deputy Vice Chancellor of DRB-HICOM University. As a token of goodwill, a gift in the form of a miniature Isuzu truck was also presented.

The handover unit is expected to arm students with knowledge and proper hands-on experience to explore and learn about the current diesel technology, aside from achieving better understanding on how these technologies are able to provide better fuel savings, performance and durability for commercial vehicles.
