The Isuzu mu-X has set itself apart from the crowd by being declared the NST-Maybank Car of the Year in the SUV 4×4 category. The Isuzu mu-X was reviewed alongside three other notable contenders to take the honours having impressed the panel of judges with its overall package.
CEO Kenji Matsuoka received the trophy from Head of Automobile Financing, Consumer Finance Community Financial Services of Malayan Banking Bhd Terry Lim.
“I am very happy to receive this award as it comes in recognition of the excellent engineering and character of the new mu-X which it derives from the amazing Isuzu D-Max,” said Matsuoka.
The Isuzu D-Max has itself been awarded twice with the NST-Maybank Car of the Year trophies in the pick-up truck category and shares much of the engineering under its skin with the mu-X.
Not surprisingly, the judging criteria of fuel efficiency, safety, comfort, advanced technology and value for money as some of the prerequisites were easily met by the all-new Isuzu mu-X.
