Isuzu’s hard-working D-Max 1.9-litre Single Cab made light work of this year’s Borneo Safari, conquering the event with ease and winning the coveted title of Vehicle of The Year 2023.
The accolade recognizes the immense capability of the workhorse model that offers an immense payload of nearly one tonne on its 2,345mm loading bed. Long established as Isuzu’s most practical model, the Isuzu D-Max 1.9-litre Single Cab captivated this year’s Borneo Safari contingent with its versatility and ease at which it traversed the event’s rugged trails.
Key to its capabilities has been the impressive performance of the 1.9-litre Blue Power engine. Capable of producing a generous 150PS of power and more importantly for load carrying, a massive 350Nm of torque available from 1,800rpm all the way to 2,600rpm, allowing it to overcome obstacles, climb steep hills or cruise comfortably on the highway. Added to this, the Isuzu D-Max 1.9-litre Single Cab boasts of a differential lock as standard, allowing it to handle the most difficult terrain with relative confidence and ease.
